Organization Accounts and Team Usage — StreamGPU
Organization Accounts and Team Usage
This guide explains the basic concepts for using StreamGPU as a team, lab, company, or project group.
What is an organization account?
An organization account groups multiple users under a shared customer or project boundary. Depending on their role, organization members can share access to organization balance, dedicated resources, and organization-scoped containers.
Roles
- OWNER: Top-level customer administrator for the organization.
- ADMIN: Operational administrator for day-to-day resource management.
- MEMBER: Standard user who can use resources according to the organization policy.
The exact permissions may vary by contract and account configuration.
Personal balance and organization balance
Personal credits and organization credits are separate. Organization workloads may use the organization balance or a reserved resource billing path, depending on the contract and resource configuration.
- Personal containers are created and billed against the user's personal balance.
- Organization containers may use organization balance or a reserved resource.
- Credit movement between personal and organization accounts may require an authorized user or StreamGPU support.
Members and permissions
An organization OWNER or authorized administrator can add members and change roles. In managed customer environments, StreamGPU support approval may be required for security reasons.
- Prepare the target user's UID or registered email address.
- Assign roles using the least-privilege principle.
- Remove or disable members who no longer need access.
Dedicated GPU and organization resources
Organizations may reserve dedicated GPUs or partitioned GPU instances depending on their agreement. Dedicated resources are operated differently from general shared availability and may have predefined time windows, pricing, and target GPUs.
For details, see the dedicated GPU and MIG partitioned resource guide.
Recommended practices
- Keep at least one active OWNER on each organization.
- Low organization balance can affect creation or continued operation of organization containers.
- Back up important data before deleting containers.
- Coordinate dedicated resource or MIG changes with StreamGPU support before the change window.
Information to include in support requests
- Organization name or customer code
- Requester account information
- Target member UID/email and requested role
- Related container name or ID
- Reason for the request and desired timing
